The Royal International Air Tattoo winners announced


As well as being the world's largest military air show attracting a total of 150,000 to 200,000 spectators over three days the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is a competition for participants and this year’s winners were recently announced at the event’s annual award ceremony.

Awards have been handed out to the various display teams and air forces that participated in this year's Royal International Air Tattoo, which took place on July 14-16.

Honours and prizes were awarded by RIAT organisers for everything from the best-looking special paint scheme to the best solo display. Winners included the Swedish Air Force SAAB SK.60 which won The King Hussein Memorial Sword (Most Polished & Precise Flying Display) and The German Air Force’s Eurofighter Typhoon which won the Best Livery Trophy. The Steedman Display Sword (British participant with the most notable contribution to RIAT)
