SAUDI HAWKS TO DISPLAY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FRANCE


The organizers of the Meeting de l’Air FOSA de Salon de Provence have announced that the Royal Saudi Air Force’s aerobatic team the Saudi Hawks will perform at the official 70th anniversary airshow of the Patrouille de France, this will be the first time the team has ever displayed in France.

The team, which flies seven BAE Hawk Mk.65As, will fly at the Meeting de l'Air de Salon-de-Provence, the official 70th-anniversary airshow of the Patrouille de France. The event organised by “Fondation des Oeuvres Sociales de l’Air- FOSA- “(Foundation for Airforce Community Services) will take place on the 20th-21st of May and beside the Saudi Hawks five other military aerobatic teams from Europe will be present, this includes the French Patrouille de France, the Swiss Patrouille Suisse, Croatian Krila Oluje and the Spanish Patrulla Aguila & Patrulla Aspa.

This will be the first time ever the Saudi Hawks have displayed in France. It is also rumoured that this will not be the only European event on the Saudi Hawks schedule and that the team will visit further European shows this year.

Saudi Hawks

The Saudi Hawks are the Royal Saudi Air Force aerobatic display team flying seven BAe Hawk Mk.65A trainers painted in an all-green colour scheme with white trim. All the team's aircraft are equipped with white, red and green smoke generators. The team is part of the No. 88 Squadron based at King Faisal Air Base in Tabuk.

The team was created in 1998 with the help of ex-Red Arrows personnel and in 2011 the Saudi Hawks performed their first-ever display in Europe at the Airpower in Zeltweg. Since then the team have returned to Europe almost every year displaying at some of Europe’s biggest airshows in the UK, Belgium, Czechia, Poland, Greece and Hungary.
