Follow-Me Team

The Follow-Me Team is a Czech civilian formation display team based at Zábřeh Airport in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The four-ship comprises vintage Zlín trainers flown by Tomáš, Bohdan, Lubo and Jarda. Their routine is a crisp, non-aerobatic formation sequence that emphasises precision: tight turns, formation flypasts and choreographed breaks—no smoke systems, just pure station-keeping.

Although a regular sight at smaller Czech airshows, Follow-Me occasionally appears at international events, bringing the classic Zlín silhouette to wider audiences.

Type & role. The team flies Zlín Z-226 and Z-326 “Trenér / Trenér Master” trainers—classic Czech designs built by Moravan in Otrokovice. While the family has aerobatic pedigree, the team’s specific airframes are operated in the non-aerobatic category, so their display focuses on close formation precision rather than solo aerobatics.

Key differences. The Z-226 features fixed landing gear; the Z-326 introduced a retractable undercarriage and airframe refinements suited to advanced training. Powerplants across the series are inline sixes from the Walter/Avia family, giving the Zlín its distinctive look and sound.

Display fit. Follow-Me’s aircraft do not use smoke; the display centres on neat geometry and formation discipline.

Follow-Me grew from a group of Zlín owners and formation enthusiasts at Zábřeh, refining a non-aerobatic four-ship routine to showcase classic Czech training aircraft. The team practices regularly at their home field, honing close station-keeping, choreographed formation changes and smooth flypasts designed for smaller venues where spectators are close to the action.

Today, Follow-Me appears predominantly around Czechia with occasional trips abroad, demonstrating how heritage trainers—when flown precisely—can deliver a captivating precision-formation display without smoke or aerobatics.
