Turkish F-16 SoloTürk Confirmed for Antidotum Airshow Leszno 2026

Organisers of one of Europe’s most innovative aviation events have released a major early highlight for the 2026 season: the renowned SoloTürk F-16 demonstration team from the Turkish Air Force will perform dynamic displays on both days of Antidotum Airshow Leszno.

The appearances are scheduled for 19 and 20 June 2026 at Leszno Airport in Poland, positioning the Turkish Viper as one of the standout military jet attractions on the European calendar.

SoloTürk: A Flagship of Turkish Aviation Excellence

The SoloTürk programme was established in late 2009 specifically to celebrate the Turkish Air Force’s 100th anniversary in 2011. Following rigorous pilot selection and training, the team conducted its first internal demonstration flight in September 2010 and made its public debut on 15 April 2011 at Akıncı Air Base. What started as a centenary project quickly became a permanent solo demonstration unit, now based at Konya Air Base.

Operating a combat-ready General Dynamics F-16C Fighting Falcon (Block 30/40 series), SoloTürk has evolved into one of the most dynamic and charismatic single-ship displays in Europe. The team typically consists of a small core group, including qualified display pilots and support personnel, often accompanied by a CN-235 transport aircraft for logistics. Over 15 years, SoloTürk has built a reputation for aggressive, high-energy routines that highlight both the F-16’s formidable performance and the skill of Turkish Air Force pilots.

The aircraft features a striking special colour scheme, incorporating bold national markings, high-visibility graphics, and an eagle motif on the tail. White smoke generators on the wingtips enhance visibility during manoeuvres, and the team is known to deploy self-protection flares for added dramatic effect, particularly in suitable conditions.

Signature Manoeuvres: Power, Precision and the Famous Dolphin

SoloTürk’s display is notably long for a solo jet routine, often lasting 15–20 minutes and incorporating around 20 manoeuvres. It blends raw power with precise handling, showcasing the F-16’s exceptional thrust-to-weight ratio and agility.

Key elements include high-alpha passes, tight radius turns, knife-edge flight, serial rolls, and the team’s patented or signature moves such as the SoloTürk roll, Rudder Kick, and the distinctive dolphin. This wave-like undulating flight path has become a crowd favourite, as seen in recent performances at events like RIAT 2024. The routine may also feature a Cobra manoeuvre – a high-angle-of-attack pitch-up that SoloTürk helped popularise with the F-16 platform – along with low-level high-speed passes and dramatic climbs.

A unique theatrical touch is the live Turkish commentary, highlighted by the iconic call “SOLO TÜÜÜÜRK!”, which has become synonymous with the team and amplifies the excitement for spectators. The combination of aggressive flying, distinctive livery, smoke trails, and occasional flares creates a memorable spectacle that adapts to weather, crowd line, and lighting conditions.

Antidotum Airshow Leszno: Innovation in Day-and-Night Aviation

Now in its sixth edition, Antidotum Airshow Leszno has gained a strong following for its blend of daytime performances and extended twilight/night-flying segments, often concluding with impressive pyrotechnics and fireworks. The event at Leszno Airport offers wide viewing areas and excellent sightlines, making it ideal for appreciating low-level jet passes and visual effects.

Scheduling SoloTürk across both Friday 19 June and Saturday 20 June allows enthusiasts to experience the full range of the display. Variations in light, wind, and pilot choices mean that attending only one day may miss subtle differences or the enhanced visual impact of evening conditions, when flares and smoke can be particularly striking.

Why Two Days Make Sense and How to Attend

Organisers emphasise that one day is often insufficient to fully appreciate a performance of this calibre. The extended routine rewards repeat viewing, and the airfield’s layout provides consistent high-quality vantage points across both days.

The European airshow community and Antidotum organisers extend warm thanks to the Turkish Air Force for confirming SoloTürk’s participation. This addition strengthens the 2026 international line-up and brings one of the continent’s most engaging F-16 displays to central Poland.
