Zoltán Veres
About the Performer
Zoltán Veres is a Hungarian aerobatic pilot famed for precise, low-level displays in the MX Aircraft MXS. Based at Budaörs Airport (LHBS) near Budapest, he’s a fixture at central-European airshows and city-centre flypasts on the Danube.
Veres became widely known for dramatic urban displays—most memorably flying beneath Budapest’s historic Chain Bridge (Széchenyi Lánchíd) during May Day events—and for a former Guinness World Record of 408 consecutive rolls set in 2007 at Al Ain, UAE.
His MXS routine blends snappy hesitation rolls, tumbling gyroscopics and drawn-out verticals, often set against landmark backdrops at shows like SIAF (Slovakia) and city races along the Danube.
About the MX Aircraft MXS
Type & role. The MXS is a single-seat, all-carbon unlimited aerobatic monoplane built by MX Aircraft (Perth, Australia). It’s the single-seat sibling of the two-seat MX2 and forms the basis of the race-tuned MXS-R.
Construction & performance. Carbon-fibre structure with full-span ailerons; typically powered by a Lycoming AEIO-540 in the 250–380 hp range (Veres flies a Lycon-tuned ~350 hp engine). Typical figures: roll rate ~420°/s, Vne 230 kt, ±12 g, range ~750 nm, and standard fuel 58 US gal (optional long-range 78 US gal).
Veres’ mount. MX Aircraft MXS N540XX (s/n 6), frequently seen operating out of Budaörs, and a regular at regional shows and Budapest river events.
