Eurofighter caps Antidotum’s German Week as Leszno completes strong German Military lineup

Organizers of the Antidotum Airshow Leszno have officially wrapped up “German Week,” confirming an impressive lineup of solo displays from the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) and German Army (Bundeswehr) for the 2026 edition on 19–20 June.

Headlining the military contingent is the return of the Eurofighter Typhoon, joined by the Airbus A400M Atlas, NH90 helicopter, and EC-665 Tiger attack helicopter. These aircraft will deliver dynamic flying displays that highlight Germany’s modern military aviation capabilities, with fixed-wing jets operating from nearby 31st Krzesiny Air Base due to Leszno’s grass airfield limitations. The participation underscores strong cooperation between the Polish airshow and the German armed forces, building on successful appearances in previous years.

The Headliner: Eurofighter Typhoon – Bavarian Tigers Solo Display

The star attraction is the Eurofighter Typhoon solo display from Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 74 (TLG 74), based at Neuburg Air Base (Fliegerhorst Neuburg) in Bavaria. Known as the “Bavarian Tigers,” this unit operates one of the world’s most advanced 4.5-generation multirole fighters, capable of air superiority, ground attack, and reconnaissance missions. Germany received its first Eurofighters in the early 2000s, with TLG 74 becoming fully operational in the mid-2000s as part of the Luftwaffe’s frontline fighter fleet.

The Typhoon has thrilled Leszno crowds before, including standout performances in 2025 and earlier editions, earning a reputation for its thunderous passes and high-energy routines that literally shake the ground. Equipped with two powerful EJ200 engines, it remains a crowd favourite for its agility and raw presence. Its return on both days of the show cements German Week’s highlight.

The Strategic Giant: Airbus A400M Atlas Solo Display

Making its mark as a solo performer is the Luftwaffe’s Airbus A400M Atlas, operated by Lufttransportgeschwader 62 (LTG 62) from Wunstorf Air Base. This four-engine turboprop tactical and strategic transport aircraft entered German service in December 2014, replacing the veteran Transall C-160. Germany has ordered 53 examples, with more than 40 now delivered and deliveries continuing through 2026.

The A400M excels in troop and cargo transport, medical evacuation, humanitarian aid, and air-to-air refueling. Its display will showcase the massive airlifter’s surprising agility despite its size. Like the Typhoon, it will operate from Krzesiny Air Base, enabling its participation at Leszno. This marks a notable addition to the German contingent for 2026.

The Versatile Utility: NH90 Helicopter Display

The German Army’s NH90 Display Team returns to Leszno following its successful Polish debut in 2025. The NH90 TTH (Troop Transport Helicopter) is a modern twin-engine medium utility helicopter developed under the NATO Helicopter Industries program. The German Army accepted its first production NH90s in December 2006, making it one of the earliest operators. It serves primarily as a troop transport, with secondary roles in search-and-rescue, medical evacuation, and airborne command.

Drawing crews from across German Army Aviation units, the display team showcases the NH90’s agility, power, and tactical versatility—often highlighted by dramatic flares and low-level maneuvers. Its return underscores the strong impression it left in 2025.

The Fierce Attacker: EC-665 Tiger Helicopter Display

Rounding out the German lineup is the EC-665 Tiger (UHT variant) from the German Army’s Kampfhubschrauberregiment 36 (Attack Helicopter Regiment 36) “Kurhessen,” based at Fritzlar Army Airfield. Germany received its first Tigers in April 2005, with the type achieving operational status in the late 2000s. Designed as a multirole fire-support and anti-tank helicopter, the Tiger features advanced sensors, a mast-mounted sight unique to the German variant, and a full suite of weapons for armed reconnaissance and close air support.

Two Tigers are confirmed: one for the dynamic flying display and one for static exhibition. Like the NH90, it performed at Leszno in 2025 as part of a historic German Army helicopter formation, and its return promises high-energy aerobatics that highlight its combat-proven capabilities.

A Fitting Close to German Week

With these four solo displays now confirmed, German Week delivers a balanced mix of fast jets, heavy transport, and agile helicopters—showcasing the breadth of Luftwaffe and Bundeswehr aviation. The Typhoon’s headline return perfectly sums up the excitement, promising loud, low-level thrills that have become a Leszno tradition.

Mark your calendars for 19–20 June 2026 at Leszno Airport. This promises to be another unforgettable edition filled with world-class flying displays and international military aviation partnership.
